I bet you never thought that having holes in your jeans would become a trend/fashion statement. Well this trend has been going strong now for a few years now and I don’t see it fading anytime soon. Distressed jeans should be a wardrobe staple for everyone.(yes that means men too ! ) If you don’t have a pair of distressed jeans then I’m pretty sure I know why… distressed jeans can be a little pricey.
Luckily for you… you found this post because I’m going to show you how to make your own pair of distressed jeans .
Let’s start with the supplies!
You will need a pair of old jeans, scissors, chalk or something to mark your jeans with and measuring tape.
Marking your Jeans…
Starting out you want to lay your jeans flat or you can put them on so you can figure out the placement of your holes.
The next thing you’re going to do is grab your scissors ,pinch your markings vertically and cut.
You can make these cuts as long or short as you want . Try and make as many lines as you can in one section it will be a lot easier when your trying to distress your jeans.
Distressing the jeans…
There are three different ways to do this part. One you can use a grater…cheese grater, two you could use a knife or number three tweezers…this is the option we are going to go with. Whichever one you go with will give you different results. Using the tweezers seem to give you the store bought distressed Jean look.
I don’t know about you but I would like my DIY jeans to look like I got them from the store.
After you’re done plucking the vertical fabric lines to your desire you should have your very own distressed jeans !
